Set on the shores of Nusa Dua — Bali’s most prestigious resort enclave — Paradisus by Meliá Bali is a luxury all-inclusive resort that has just undergone a complete transformation. Originally inaugurated over 40 years ago as the first Meliá hotel outside Spain, the property has been fully renovated and rebranded under the Paradisus name, reopening in early 2026 as a destination designed around immersive luxury and well-being.

The resort spans 25 acres of tropical gardens, with a vast lagoon-style pool winding through the grounds, connecting the different areas of the property. With 492 suites and seven private villas, the hotel is structured around distinct experiences: The Reserve, an adults-only sanctuary offering elevated service and exclusive spaces; and Family Concierge, a premium program thoughtfully designed for families with dedicated amenities. Twelve restaurants, multiple pools, a full-service spa, and a wide range of leisure facilities complete a property that operates as a self-contained world.

Photographing a resort of this scale required nearly a month of work during the rainy season — a production challenge that demanded careful planning and flexibility. Every day was coordinated around shifting weather windows and the best natural light available, adapting the shooting schedule to capture each space under optimal conditions. From the open-air restaurants and beachfront areas to the serene interiors of the villas and suites, every corner of the property needed to be documented with precision, reflecting both its architectural character and the atmosphere it creates for its guests.

The complexity of the project — its sheer size, the tropical climate, the diversity of spaces — made it one of the most demanding productions I have undertaken. But it was also one of the most rewarding: an opportunity to capture a landmark property at the very beginning of its new chapter, translating its scale and refinement into images that convey the essence of a place where luxury meets the spirit of Bali.
